Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. She anchors SportsNation and serves as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN in the year of 2016. Her mother is television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by when she was nine years old. This ability that helped her get her first job as an Univision Production Assistant in Miami. She collaborated with producers for National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009, she moved away from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter at KNVO TV 48 Univision. The stories she covered were about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs throughout Texas and Mexico. Her duties as an anchor for sports or weather were regularly asked for. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's Dallas-affiliate station. In that station, she was given greater duties. She covered The Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason, as well as the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. She produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and anchored it. She was hired as anchor for sports for Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. She worked in the same position as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. Then, they moved to Mexico City and she was born there on the 22nd of November in 1985. She is the elder sibling of her parents. In 1992 her family left Mexico and relocated to Miami. Within a brief time her father split from her mother and she later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. The couple stayed at Canton Ohio with her older sister during the summer, where she had been provided with an opportunity to work. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school and was very aware of her career goals. She went to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school was suitable for her. She loved the campus. They also offered her the major that she desired. After finishing her high school education, she chose to go to the university and major with Media Studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was member of her class, developed an ongoing friendship with her. His passion for journalism and confidence in herself instilled confidence in her. She in turn was determined to achieve his standards and not disappoint him.
